Inverness

Overlooking the river Ness and the Moray Firth is lnverness Castle, and close by, with its sombre atmosphere is Culloden Battlefield, where in 1746 Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites fought against his distant cousin, the Duke of Cumberland, who led the Government troops.

Today, the marshes of Culloden are calm and peaceful, belying their bloody history.

There is plenty of shopping in the town, with chain stores and antique shops on winding streets, or modern precincts and Victorian markets.

Airport information

Inverness airport is accesible to disabled passengers with disabled toilets, a disabled drop-off area and disabled parking. There is also disabled access through revolving doors.

By road

Inverness airport, locally known as Dalcross, is located along the A96 road, some 10 miles east of Inverness town. The airport is well sign posted from the A96.

There is one main car park at the airport catering for both short and long term stays. The cost is calculated on the amount of time your vehicle is parked.
